Request-Routing Trends and Techniques in Content Distribution Network
نویسندگان
چکیده
Content Distribution Networks (CDNs) have been developed and evolved to meet the growing commercial need for efficient and secure delivery of content over the Internet. Several proprietary CDN systems are now operating successfully, fulfilling the commercial demands to a certain extent. The protocols and algorithms used in these systems are mostly of proprietary nature and not standardized. Furthermore, the effectiveness of these protocols and algorithms has not yet been subject to analysis and exhaustive performance testing. However, the IETF Content Distribution Internetworking Group (CDN-WG) has begun the process of specifying the requirements and standardizing the protocols for CDNs. This paper presents an overview of Content Distribution Networks and then describes and analyzes different request routing techniques that have been developed by researchers so far to date.

Hybrid Content Networking Architecture
Content delivery networks (CDNs) can be defined in many ways. Basically CDNs are intelligent networks that understand the type of content request, where to find it, and how to deliver it in an efficient way. Now the network to be intelligent enough to do all this requires specialized techniques both at the application level as well as the network level. Caching of requested objects enhances the...
متن کاملRandom Key Pre-Distribution Techniques against Sybil Attacks
Sybil attacks pose a serious threat for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) security. They can create problems in routing, voting schemes, decision making, distributed storage and sensor re-programming. In a Sybil attack, the attacker masquerades as multiple sensor identities that are actually controlled by one or a few existing attacker nodes. Sybil identities are fabricated out of stolen keys, obt...
متن کاملSpace4time: Optimization latency-sensitive content service in cloud
Nowadays, as cloud service is increasingly a commodity, some Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) make profit by providing content services, and play the more important role of delivering content to users. Providing content services presents new challenges for coordination between storage systems and network infrastructures, specifically for latency-sensitive applications such as voice, video, and te...
متن کاملRouting Hole Handling Techniques for Wireless Sensor Networks: A Review
A Wireless Sensor Network consists of several tiny devices which have the capability to sense and compute the environmental phenomenon. These sensor nodes are deployed in remote areas without any physical protections. A Wireless Sensor Network can have various types of anomalies due to some random deployment of nodes, obstruction and physical destructions. These anomalies can diminish the sensi...
متن کاملAn economic mechanism for request routing and resource allocation in hybrid CDN-P2P networks
Hybrid content delivery networks (HCDN) benefit from the complementary advantages of P2P (Peer to Peer) networks and CDNs (Content Delivery Network). In order to extend a traditional CDN and enable it to offer hybrid content delivery service, we have modified a traditional domain name system-based request routing mechanism. The proposed scheme relies on an oligopolistic mechanism to balance the...
